Runaway teen Christian convert must return to Ohio, judge rules

17 year old Rifqa Bary is of Islamic descent. Back in early July, Rifqa transferred her faith from Islamic to focus more on Christianity and to worship Jesus. Her father found out about this, and Rifqa said that he threatend to kill her. With her mind made up, Rifqa ranaway to Florida where she took refuge at a Christian Pastor's house. Until early this month Rifqa was forced back into the custody of her parents in Ohio. She claims that she is in danger in this environment, but there is no proof of abuse on her father's behalf, both physically nor mentally. She will continue worshiping Jesus, though it is highly against her parents', especially her father's beliefs. The court in the next few months will decide the fate of custody, unless it roles over until Rifqa turns 18.

I think Rifqa is right in every way to want to convert and move out of here house. If Rifqa or anyone else is in a situation in life where it requires you to give up what you have inorder to get where you need because where you are at is preventing you from happiness, by all means change it. We as Americans have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If for Rifqa that happiness is worshiping Jesus, then that should not be changed nor taken away from here. The Constituition does not just rely on adults to carry out the rights. As youth we need to experience the same and exact rights as the adults inorder to seize the freedoms we have in front of us. My savior is Jesus. I believe he is there for me each and every day, hour, minute, and second of the day. If someone approached me with an intent to change my mind, I would stand up for my beliefs. This is America and I am sovereign.
